Anthropologist & philosophers use the word 'totem' broadly to describe a practice that is observed in cultures around the world. There are various complexities of how totemism is defined and used from culture to culture, family to family, tribe to tribe.
The purpose of this collection is not to assert my own personal belief in any one of these intimate cultural practices. Rather, I created the collection to provide a platform for individuals to identify the symbols, emblems, or elements that help define their own story.
